Living with stars - the interaction between exoplanets and their host stars — •Malcolm Fridlund — DLR - Institut für Planetenforschung, Berlin

As we are rapidy approaching a total of 1000 known planets orbiting stars other than our Sun, it is becoming abundantly clear that the properties of the host star is of ultimate importance with respect to the formation and evolution of the planet(s) orbiting it. In this talk we will outline the processes that are of importance for the formation of the planet, the evolution of their atmospheres and the ultimate fates of the systems as the stars and planets evolve together.
