We investigated the memristive properties of Barium Titanate and its application in the field of Neuromorphic Engineering. It is suggested in [1] that memristive elements may be a perfect fit for replacing synaptic circuits in modelled neuronal networks. Therefore we sputtered thin BTO films and characterized them with X-ray defraction (XRD). We observed the required tetragonal stucture in the XRD spectra. Furthermore we measured first memristive i-v tunneling characteristic. Finally we plan to integrate memristive elements with a neuromorphic CMOS chip and discuss advantages over previous attempts.
