CoCr2O4 is a ferrimagnet (TC∼ 97K) with cubic spinel structure and two magnetic ions (Co2+ and Cr3+) in the elementary cell. Significant spin-lattice coupling and magnetic frustration are important features of CoCr2O4, defining its very unusual phase diagram [1]. Here, we report on high-field electron spin resonance (ESR) studies of single-crystalline samples of CoCr2O4 performed in the frequency range from 90 to 1000 GHz in magnetic fields up to 16 T. Two modes were observed. Peculiarities of the ESR excitation spectra are discussed.
This work was partly supported by the DFG.
