Radiation damage in single crystal CVD diamond material investigated with a high current Au beam. — •Jerzy Pietraszko and Wolfgang Koenig for the HADES collaboration — GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung GmbH, Planckstraße 1, 64291 Darmstadt, Germany
Single-crystal Chemical Vapor Deposition (ScCVD) diamond based prototype detectors have been constructed for the high current heavy ion experiments HADES and CBM at the future FAIR facility at GSI Darmstadt. Their properties have been studied with a high current density beam (about 2-3×106/s/mm2) of 1.25 A GeV Au ions. Details of the design, the intrinsic properties of the detectors and their performance after irradiation with such beam will be reported.
