Particle Flow Parametrization for Fast Simulation of ILC Detectors — •Eldwan Brianne — DESY, Hamburg
The design jet energy resolution for the International Linear Collider is σE/E = 3-4%. In order to achieve such a resolution, the Particle Flow concept is the main key. It needs calorimeters with high granularity and sophisticated reconstruction software.
This concept has been demonstrated in full, GEANT4 based detector simulation. However, for many physics studies, faster simulation software is required. Techniques of fast calorimeter simulations used in the past are not applicable to the particle flow concept. Thus we present a new approach to parametrize the performance of a particle flow detector in terms of double counted or lost energy, wrong track or cluster associations ...etc.
