Studies on ttZ production in 8 TeV proton-proton collisions with the ATLAS detector — Markus Cristinziani and •Kaven Yau Wong — Physikalisches Institut der Universität Bonn
The associated production of a top-quark pair and a Z boson is a rare process which can be used to directly measure the tZ-coupling. With a theoretical cross section at NLO of 0.206 pb, around 4200 events are expected to be found in the data collected by ATLAS in 2012 at 8 TeV center-of-mass energy, corresponding to 20.3 fb−1. Final states are classified according to the number of identified leptons (electrons or muons). Of these events, 2100 are expected to be fully hadronic, 1500 are expected to have one lepton, 440 are expected to have two leptons, 120 are expected to have three leptons and 20 are expected to have four leptons in their final state. Our study focuses on the high lepton multiplicity channels, which have small branching fractions but a good signal-to-background ratio.
