The electromagnetic top-quark coupling is of essential interest to many models beyond the Standard Model as well as to background contribution for Higgs searches. We investigate this coupling utilizing top-quark pair events with a photon in the final state with the CMS detector. The analysis focuses on a cut-based muon plus jets selection requiring the photon to be high-energetic and well isolated. In order to achieve a precise measurement, a clear separation of photons and jets in the high jet-multiplicity environment of the signal signature is crucial. We will show preliminary results of the performance of the analysis. Additionally, this presentation will cover the simulation of events using Monte Carlo methods.
