Test results of Depleted Monolithic Active Pixel Sensor (DMAPS) prototypes — •Theresa Obermann, Tomasz Hemperek, Hans Krüger, Carlos Marinas, and Norbert Wermes — Physikalisches Institut, Bonn, Nussallee 12, Deutschland
New monolithic detector concepts are currently being explored for future particle physics experiments. Common to monolithic pixel detectors is the integration of the front-end circuitry and the sensor on the same silicon substrate. The DMAPS concept consists of two approaches: the first one makes use of high resistive silicon as substrate and the second one is based on silicon on insulator technology. Both processes enable the application of a high bias voltage to create a drift field for the charge collection in the sensor part as well as the full usage of CMOS logic in the same piece of silicon. For the first time DMAPS prototypes are available. Lab tests were carried out to study the general functionality and noise performance of the first prototype built on a high resistive substrate. Source tests to measure the charge collection properties are ongoing and results will be presented.
