Lorentz violation and/or CPT violation are increasingly considered as viable ways to search for physics beyond the Standard Model. We have recently formulated a quite general form of Lorentz violation assuming a modification of the W-boson propagator [1]. Using this theory, experimental searches have been and are undertaken, in particular by exploiting various aspects of beta decay. Important result were also obtained by reexamining existing data. We discuss the status of the various searches and the limits on Lorentz violation that have been obtained so far. An outlook on possible experimental methods to constrain the Lorentz violating parameters further will be given. [1] J.P. Noordmans, H.W. Wilschut, R.G.E. Timmermans, Phys. Rev. C 87(2013)055502.
