Unfolding of Gamma-Ray Energy Spectra with FACT — •Sabrina Einecke for the FACT collaboration — TU Dortmund, Deutschland
The indirect measurement of gamma-rays with the First G-APD Cherenkov Telescope (FACT) requires an inference from the measured image parameters to the energy of the incident primary. These image parameters and hence also the estimated energy show a finite resolution. In order to correct for that, an unfolding is applied, taking moreover the limited acceptance of the detection process into account.
The concept of a classical unfolding will be introduced as well as a newly developed data-mining approach. Additionally, results from these two approaches will be presented.
