Simulation Study of the Muon Content in Air Showers — •Mona Erfani1, Markus Risse1, Mariangela Settimo1, 2, and Alexey Yushkov1 — 1University of Siegen — 2LPNHE, Universites Paris 6 et Paris 7, CNRS-IN2P3, Paris, France
Ground muons produced by extensive air showers are messengers of the primary cosmic ray mass and high-energy hadronic interactions. They are an important component of air showers and have already been an attractive subject in various experimental studies. In this study, CORSIKA air showers have been simulated for different primary cosmic rays like photon, proton and iron at energies between 1016 eV to 1018 eV without thinning of shower muons and different observables of these ground muons are extracted and analyzed.
