Measurement of transverse momentum distribution of Z bosons with muons decay channel in proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV with 2012 ATLAS data — •Tai-Hua Lin, Mikhail Karnevskiy, and Matthias Schott — Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany
The precise knowledge of the Z boson transverse momentum distribution is from great importance for electroweak precision measurements at the LHC. The high statistics and new center of mass energy of √s=8 TeV of 2012 data-set recorded by the ATLAS experiment allows therefore a precise test of perturbative QCD predictions. This presentation will focus on preliminary results on the unfolded Z boson transverse momentum spectrum in the muon decay channel. Systematic uncertainties due to limited detector resolutions, background uncertainties as well as theoretical uncertainties will be discussed.
