Measurement of tripple differential Drell-Yan cross section for central-forward electron selection using 20.4 fb-1 of ATLAS 8 TeV data — •Elena Yatsenko — DESY, Hamburg, Germany
The neutral current Drell-Yan cross section provides reach information on electroweak and QCD effects. Large data samples collected by the ATLAS detector in 2012 allow to study the cross section in multiple dimensions. Measurement as a function of the Z boson rapidity, invariant mass of the lepton pair and scattering angle in the Collin-Sopper frame is sensitive to the proton parton density functions and weak mixing angle. Extension of the measurement with one of the electrons measured in the forward calorimeter is complementary to central selection and allows to probe large rapidities and scattering angles.
