Electromagnetic exclusive di-lepton production in pPb collisions at √s = 5.02 TeV at the CMS experiment — •Melike Akbiyik, Colin Baus, Sebastian Baur, Igor Katkov, Ralf Ulrich, and Hauke Woehrmann — Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

We present a study of exclusive di-lepton photoproduction in ultra-peripheral collisions with the CMS experiment in proton-lead collisions at LHC. Firstly, the production of heavy vector-mesons is measured, which provides direct information on the parton distribution function in the nucleons and in nuclei at very low values of Bjorken-x. Secondly, the continuum di-muon production is studied as a benchmark process for LHC luminosity calibration, but also with the aim to look for potentially new resonance states at higher energies.
