Top quark mass measurements: recent ATLAS and combination results — •Giorgio Cortiana — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, Föhringer Ring 6, D-80805 München, Germany
A precise measurement of the top quark mass constitutes a critical input to global electroweak fits, provides constraints on the properties of the Higgs boson, and helps in assessing the internal consistency of the Standard Model of particle physics and of its extensions.
The experimental and theoretical challenges related to top quark mass determinations at hadron colliders, the recent measurements from the ATLAS experiment, and finally the latest top quark mass combination results, will be summarized and reviewed.
