Jet charge studies performed in the ttH context for the dilepton channel with the CMS experiment — Nazar Bartosik, •Jasone Garay Garcia, Johannes Hauk, and Andreas B. Meyer — Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), Notkestrasse 85, 22607 - Hamburg
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) is one of the two large multi-purpose experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) where recently a Higgs boson was discovered. A major goal for the coming years is the precise measurement of the new particle's properties. In the Standard Model the Higgs boson is expected to couple most strongly with the Top quark, due to the Top quark's large mass. A direct measurement of the Top-Higgs coupling can be achieved through analysis of associated production of a Higgs with a Top quark pair (tt H). In this analysis ttH events are studied in the final state with two opposite sign leptons and four b-quarks, two of which are coming from the Higgs system and two from the Top system, leading to large combinatorial backgrounds for the experimental reconstruction of the Higgs boson invariant mass in this channel. As part of the presentation, a study of the jet charge is presented, which aims to reduce the jet combinatorics.
