Searching for single top-quark production in the di-lepton channel at ATLAS — •Rui Zhang and Ian C. Brock — Physikalisches Institut, Bonn Universität, Bonn

Single top-quark production occurs via the weak interation and the rate depends directly on the Wtb coupling, i.e. V_tb. Three different topologies are distinguished: t-channel, s-channel and Wt-channel. The Wt-channel is the second-most important production mode at the LHC. The study presented focuses on this production mode in the di-leption channel which contains two W bosons plus a b quark and both W bosons decay via l+ν. The final state includes a b-quark jet, two charged leptons and two missing neutrinos. Methods will be discussed on how to separate this channel from other processes.
