In light of the recent Higgs boson discovery and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model, we look for a light charged Higgs boson (mH± < mt − mb). We investigate a scenario where the charged Higgs boson is produced in association with a top quark pair (t → H± b). We consider the dileptonic decay mode as signature where the Higgs boson decays into a τ lepton, while the other top quark decays into a muon (t t → H± W∓ b b → τ ντ µ νµ b b). The present analysis focuses on pp collision data at √s = 8 TeV collected by the CMS experiment.
