In the talk we will present the efforts and first results for an NLO jet merging with the general purpose event generator Herwig++. The implementation describes exclusive as well as inclusive observables to the accuracy of the inserted matrix elements. Merging e+e- → 2/3/4 jets at NLO is used as a playground to check if the formalism works. Effects at the merging scale and the comparison to LEP data will be discussed.
