Electroweak Corrections to the Drell-Yan Process in the POWHEG BOX — •Christian Weiss — Institut für theoretische Physik 1, Universität Siegen
We present an implementation of NLO-parton shower matching for electroweak corrections, specifically for the Drell-Yan process, using the POWHEG method. The basic principle of POWHEG is to rearrange the parton shower such that the hardest emission is generated first. To provide an easy way to create events according to this method, a computer program, the POWHEG BOX is available. Up to recently, it was only suited for QCD calculations. Our modification enables also the inclusion of photon emission, particularly of the Drell-Yan process. This is of particular interest because it is easy to detect due to two final-state leptons, which are not influenced by QCD effects. However, electroweak corrections have a significant effect on the kinematics of those leptons, and the POWHEG BOX is able to describe them.
