Search for New Physics Phenomena in Dijet Events at ATLAS — •Oliver Endner and Stefan Tapprogge — Institut für Physik, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz
The high energies reached in proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) make it possible to further test the Standard Model and search for Physics beyond that. Jets are an excellent probe for new physics processes. Deviations from the Standard Model could be visible in events with two jets in the final state(dijets). The invariant mass distribution of the pair of jets could possibly show a resonant like excess. In the absence of such an excess, exclusion limits on New Phenomena can be set. In this talk a search with dijets using data recorded in 2012 at √s=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector will be presented.
