Recently, organo-halide perowskites have been attracted much interest by researchers due to their excellent performance as light absorbing material in solar cells. Certificated efficiencies of up to 20% have been reported [1]. Until now, the origins of their extremely well performance are not fully understood.

We investigated the material properties of methylammonium lead iodide (CH3NH3PbI3) and methylammonium lead bromide (CH3NH3PbBr3) for different temperatures. The results of this study confirm these achieved by Mitzi [2].
