Time-dependent Gutzwiller wave function for the finite-dimensional Hubbard model in nonequilibrium — •Marc Alexander and Marcus Kollar — Theoretische Physik III, Universitität Augsburg
We apply the time-dependent Gutzwiller wave function (GWF) to the fermionic Hubbard model in nonequilibrium in two and three dimensions. For this purpose we combine two variational formalisms for the GWF, one that starts from the limit of infinite dimensions [1] and one that applies in arbitrary dimensions [2]. Similar to the one- and infinite-dimensional case, the resulting equations of motion are conservative and yield oscillatory behavior for an interaction quench, which we compare with the prethermalization dynamics on short timescales.
