Synergies of the decays B_s → K^*− ℓ⁺ ν and B → K^* ℓ⁺ ℓ⁻ — Thorsten Feldmann, •Bastian Müller, and Danny van Dyk — Universität Siegen

In light of the tension between inclusive and exclusive determinations of the CKM matrix element |V_ub|, we investigate with the decay B_s → K^*− ℓ⁺ ν an interesting, independent probe of |V_ub| in exclusive decays. We present analytic expressions for the full angular distribution of the subsequent K^*− → K⁻ π decay. Numerical estimates are given for a subset of observables. In addition, we combine the angular observables of the decays B_s → K^*− ℓ⁺ ν and B → K^* ℓ⁺ ℓ⁻ into new optimized observables, which offer the opportunity to reduce theoretical uncertainties.
