Active galactic nuclei as possible neutrino sources — •Isaac Saba and Julia Tjus — Ruhr-Universität Bochum
The detection of high energetic neutrinos with the IceCube detector gives raise to the question, where these neutrinos are produced. Different scenarios and possible production regimes in astrophysical sources are discussed. We assume that these neutrinos are produced in the jets of active galactic nuclei. To calculate the fluxes and compare with the detected fluxes we use analytically and semi analytically methods. Our aim is to have a deeper understanding of the production mechanism and location within the jet.
