Study of very forward jets at 13 TeV with the CASTOR calorimeter of CMS — •Sebastian Baur, Melike Akbiyik, Colin Baus, Igor Katkov, Ralf Ulrich, and Hauke Woehrmann — Institut für Experimentelle Kernphysik, Karlsruher Institut für Technologie

The CASTOR calorimeter of CMS measures QCD jets at pseudorapidities −5.2≥η≥ −6.6. Due to this unique very forward acceptance, such data is very discriminating for hadronic event generators. In particular since values of Bjorken-x down to 10⁻⁶ are probed. In preparation for the upcoming LHC Run 2 at √s=13 TeV, a Monte Carlo study of such jets is presented, including full detector simulation with GEANT4. We investigate methods of data- and Monte Carlo-driven jet energy corrections. First results of p_t-balancing and detector unfolding are presented.
