Status of the Auger Engineering Radio Array — •Qader Dorosti — Institut für Kernphysik (IKP)
The Auger Engineering Radio Array (AERA) is operating at the site of the Pierre Auger cosmic-ray Observatory. AERA currently consists of 124 radio stations, being planned to be upgraded with 25 more radio stations in early 2015. The upgrade will increase the instrumentation size of the detector by a factor of about 2, resulting in an instrumentation size of 12 km2. Being sensitive to the electromagnetic components of extensive air showers, AERA aims to provide high quality measurements of the direction, energy and mass of cosmic rays, providing complementary information to the Auger's surface, fluorescence and muon detectors. We will present the recent results of AERA and its future plans.
