The observation of neutrino oscillation made Lepton Flavor Violation an empirical fact. However, evidence for mixing in the charged sector has yet to be found. In the context of physics beyond the standard model, rates of such processes can be greatly enhanced to a level measurable at the LHC. A model independent search for a Z boson decaying to an electron and a muon with the CMS experiment is presented.
