Power stabilization for the AEI 10m Prototype using a photodiode array — •Jonas Junker — Max-Planck-Institute for Gravitational Physics (AEI)
Low noise lasers are essential for sensitive interferometric experiments. A highly sensitive 10m long laser interferometer is set up at the Albert Einstein Institute (AEI) in Hannover designed to reach the standard-quantum limit of interferometry. Therefore a laser source with a relative power noise as low as 2·10−9 Hz−1/2 is required. A 35W laser system with a wavelength of 1064nm is used and will be stabilized with an active control loop. To reduce the shot noise level at the control loop’s sensor four in-loop and four out-of-loop photodiodes have to be used. We will present the experimental realization and the preliminary results.
