Solar cells based on organic-inorganic perovskite semiconductors show a surprisingly high conversion effciency. Despite tremendous progress in the field of perovskite based devices, the fundamental photophysics responsible for the good performance are still not well understood. In order to obtain a better insight of the charge separation and recombination dynamics in these materials we have performed ultrafast time resolved absorption experiments in the VIS/NIR spectral range on pure MAPbI3 (CH3 NH3PbI3) films, as well as on multilayer systems which use PEDOT:PSS and PC61BM as charge selective extraction layers. Our experiments allow to selectively monitor diffusion and recombination processes as well as interfacial charge transfer and the formation of interfacial charge transfer states with a sub-100 fs time resolution
