Semiconducting metal halide nanocrystals are promising candidates for optoelectronic devices due to their high quantum yield and solution processability. Fully inorganic CsPbI3 is more stable than CH3NH3PbI3. Polarization resolved optical spectroscopy of single CsPbI3 nanocrystals probes their cubic crystal structure and sperical shapes. Photoluminescence emission from freshly synthesized CsPbI3 nanocrystals was found to be almost unpolarized. Several weeks old nanocrystals showed an increased appearance of polarized photoluminescence in agreement with the observation of elongated crystal shapes by TEM.
