Weyl semimetals are a new class of materials whose low-energy electronic excitations are described by the Weyl equation. In this presentation, we discuss the electronic structure of one of the most commonly-known Weyl semimetals, TaAs [1,2], obtained through first-principle calculations. We analyze both the bulk and Fermi arc states of this material. Our work presents a comprehensive understanding of the topological surface states of TaAs, which would be helpful for future experimental studies.
