Josephson junctions (JJs) offer a natural way to convert a dc-voltage into high-frequency electromagnetic radiation. The high-Tc superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x intrinsically forms stacks of JJs. Such stacks can be used as generators for electromagnetic radiation of frequencies in the sub-THz and low-THz regime. Radiation power and frequency strongly depend on the electric and thermal parameters of the stack. To systematically investigate this dependence we vary these parameters in-situ by changing the charge carrier density via current injection. Experimental results and theoretical simulations will be presented.
