We present our work towards the construction of a cavity-enhanced polarimeter for highly sensitive, continuous-wave, measurements of chirality in the gas, liquid, and solid phase. The developed polarimeter employs an optical cavity that allows for the enhancement of the chiral (optical-rotation) signals by the number of cavity passes, and, for the introduction of crucial signal reversals that enable absolute chirality measurements with high sensitivity. The presented technique has applications in different science fields ranging from fundamental physics, to atmospheric chemistry and medical research. We presentour newly constructed chiral-polarimeter here in Mainz, and discuss its current sensitivity and our efforts towards shot-noise limited optical rotation measurements.
