A measurement of the top-quark MS and pole masses is performed using proton-proton collisions data recorded by the CMS detector during 2015 data taking at the centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.2 fb−1. A binned-likelihood fit to multi-differential distributions of final state observables is performed to constrain systematic uncertainties in situ and to extract the visible tt production cross section. The top-quark Monte Carlo mass is treated as a nuisance parameter in the fit, and the observed tt cross section is compared to theory predictions at next-to-next-to-leading order in order to extract the top-quark mass in a well-defined renormalization scheme.
