Test beam results for neutron and proton irradiated MuPix7 prototypes — •Lennart Huth — Physikalisches Institut, Universität Heidelberg
The MuPix7 prototype is a high voltage monolithic active pixel sensor (HV-MAPS), which is developed for the Mu3e experiment. The MuPix7 features a fully integrated data driven readout, as well as on chip timestamps and an on chip transmitter sending a serial 1.25 GBit/s data stream to the readout FPGA.
To study effects of radiation damage, samples were irradiated with protons (PS) up to a dose of 7.8 · 1015 protons/cm2 and neutrons (Ljubljana) up to 5·1015 neutrons/cm2. The irradiated sensors were characterized at three test beams at PSI and DESY using the MuPix Telescope.
This presentation will discuss the cooling setup and cover the working principle of the MuPix7. Test beam results of the irradiated MuPix7 performance in terms of efficiency, noise, time resolution and crosstalk are presented.
