Measurement of Z boson production cross section in the dilepton channels in pp collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector — •Nataliia Zakharchuk — Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron, Hamburg, Germany
A measurement of Z boson production cross sections in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy √s=13 TeV is presented. Results are obtained in both Z→ µ µ and Z→ ee channels, based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb−1 collected with the ATLAS detector at the LHC during the year 2015 operating at 25 ns bunch spacing. The selection criteria of the measurement are optimized to be as close as possible to the measurement of the tt production cross section in order to reduce uncertainties for cross-section ratios between the channels. The experimental results, including the results from √s= 7 and 8 TeV, are compared to the predictions of perturbative QCD calculations at next-to-next-to-leading orders using various sets of parton distribution functions (PDFs) including electroweak corrections. The comparison is performed using an open-source xFitter package. Moreover, the measured cross sections are used to estimate the impact on top mass measurement using PDF profiling method.
