Study of phospholipid artificial membranes on solid substrates has become a relevant way to gain insight into the physical behaviour of cell membranes. In this work, porous silicon substrates (pSi) were made using a two-electrode cell to produce different pore diameters. Substrates were characterized with Field Emission Electron Microscopy. The phospholipid (DPPC) was deposited in high vacuum from the gas phase on the pSi. Film thickness was controlled using Very High Resolution Ellipsometry (VHRE). Samples were hydrated in air with ultrapure water to assemble the bilayer. Phase transitions were measured with VHRE and Stray Light Intensity during temperature cycles. AFM was used to study morphological changes of bilayers as a function of temperature. Our results open new ways to hydrate lipid bilayers using pSi with a specific pore diameter.
