The tetragonal compound YbNi4P2 has a low Curie temperature, TC = 0.17 K, which can be further suppressed by substituting P by As
and the rare case of a ferromagnetic quantum critical point occurs
in the substitution series YbNi4(P1−xAsx)2 at x ≈ 0.1 [1,2].
Here, we present the characterization of YbNi4(P1−xAsx)2 single crystals [3,4]
with As concentrations 0≤ x ≤ 1 by electrical transport, heat capacity and magnetization measurements.
We also discuss the effect on the magnetic ordering temperature of a substitution at the Yb site by hafnium and scandium.
