Coulomb excitation of ¹⁴²Xe — Corinna Henrich and •Thorsten Kröll for the IS548-MINIBALL collaboration — TU Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany

The nucleus ¹⁴²Xe lies in the proximity of the doubly magic nucleus ¹³²Sn, a region through which the r-process is expected to pass. ¹⁴²Xe was studied in a "safe" Coulomb excitation experiment at HIE-ISOLDE (CERN) in 2016 in order to follow quadrupole and octupole collectivity in this area. Also, ¹⁴⁴Ba, which exhibits the largest octupole collectivity in the region, is located just two protons above ¹⁴²Xe. Both beam and target nuclei were measured using an array of segmented Si detectors (C-REX), covering forward as well as backward angles. The MINIBALL spectrometer was used to detect the emitted gamma rays in coincidence. The status of the analysis will be presented.
