Measurement of the branching fraction of B→ D**(D(*)π0)ℓ ν in the context of a R(D(*)) analysis at the Belle experiment — Florian Bernlochner, Pablo Goldenzweig, Felix Metzner, and •Maximilian Welsch — ETP, KIT, Karslruhe
The observed ratios of semi-tauonic decays involving D and D* mesons, R(D(*)), are in strong tension with the Standard Model expectation. Recent measurements point to a deviation of about four standard deviations. One of the main backgrounds in the experimental determination are processes from B→ D**(D(*)π0)ℓ ν, where D** denotes one of the four 1P excited D meson states. In this work, a direct measurement of these channels is carried out and this talk presents the current status of measuring B(B→ D**(D(*)π0)ℓ ν) using the full Belle dataset of 772 million BB pairs and a novel hadronic tagging method.
