We investigate the quench dynamics of a spinless disordered
Fermi-Hubbard model in the Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation. The one-
dimensional model is expected to show a transition to a many-body localized (MBL)
phase with increasing disorder at a fixed interaction strength. Surprisingly,
the simple HF approximation qualitatively captures the MBL phenomenology [1].
We compare results from the HF approach to exact calculations and
results obtained by the time-dependent variational principle (TDVP) [2]
in order to illuminate the benefits and limitations of the HF approach.
