Non-perturbative contribution to the collisional broadening and medium induced radiation in QCD plasmas — Guy D. Due to the famous infrared problem of finite temperature QCD, perturbative calculation of transport phenomena can receive large non-perturbative contributions.
Here, we investigate the impact of non-perturbative contributions to jet-medium interactions, by incorporating non-perturbative contributions to the collisional broadening kernel C(b⊥), which determines the rate of medium induced radiation.
We construct the collision kernel C(b⊥) non-perturbatively, by matching lattice EQCD calculations [1] with the correct ultraviolet behavior of QCD.
By comparing the results for medium induced radiation in infinite and finite QCD plasmas [2] to leading order and next to leading order calculations, we assess the importance of non-perturbative aspects of momentum broadening for jet quenching calculations.
