The recovery of a molecule's orientation in coherent-diffractive imaging with intense Xray-pulses is tackled with a deep neural network. This network provides the a priori unknown orientation for each image within the set of single-molecule scattering images. By means of this information it is possible to reconstruct the 3D structure of the molecule from a dedicated subset of 2D projections.
