During the fightings in the Ukraine two nuclear dangers are evolving: One is the security and safety of nuclear installations such as for nuclear power plants and research reactors including fissile material. The other is the escalation risk towards a nuclear war. Nuclear facilities have been shelled and occupied. No radiation has been released until now, but what are the midterm consequences for theses facilities which need cooling, electric power and personnel? Does the order to move the Russian nuclear forces to a special ``combat duty'' lowers the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons? What does the revival of threatening nuclear weapons in a conventional war mean for the existing Nonproliferation Regime(NPT), the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Forces (TPNW) and the debate on future nuclear doctrines? The purpose of this ad-hoc session is to brief about the safety and security of functioning and fueled nuclear installations in a war situation and the status of the Russian nuclear arsenals and its escalation risk. Although the situation is volatile and riddled with fake news, this session will try to give more background information and discuss ways out of this dangerous situation.
