A simulation study for the Radio Detector of AugerPrime: spectral-fitting analysis for inclined showers — •Sara Martinelli — Institute for Astroparticle Physics, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

The Pierre Auger Observatory is currently being upgraded to increase its aperture for mass-sensitive measurements of cosmic-ray induced air showers. AugerPrime features a Radio Detector that will be the world's largest radio-antenna array for the detection of ultra- high energy cosmic rays. It will allow to extend the sky coverage of mass-sensitive measurements to zenith angles beyond 65 degrees of incoming cosmic rays. To exploit the wealth of information carried by the short transient radio pulses from air showers, the frequency spectra of the signals have to be investigated. I will present an analysis of the spectral information contained in the radio pulses, with a focus on the 30-80 MHz frequency band. Two exponential models are investigated to describe the spectra of the geomagnetic and charge-excess emission respectively. For both components, a full parameterization of the spectral shape as a function of the distance to the shower axis and the geometrical distance between core and shower maximum will be presented. These pieces of information can be employed in event reconstruction to constrain the geometry, in particular the core position.
