The development of ion traps as enabling quantum technology is essential for fields such as quantum simulation and quantum computing. Successful commercial application of quantum technologies requires frequent exchange of knowledge between scientific research and industry. This goes hand in hand with standardized measurements and lab routines for benchmarking processes.

In accordance with its central goal, the Quantum Technology Competence Center (QTZ) at PTB aims to become the necessary link between research and industry in Germany, to ensure a successful transfer of quantum technology expertise to industrial application. Here, the user facility ``Ion Traps'' provides an environment which offers standardized measurements and calibration services for ion traps. This comprises automated routines for e.g. the measurement of ion micromotion and ion heating rates. Using a simple GUI, partners from a non-physics background will be able to conduct calibrated measurements on their own.
