Magnon is a quantum of collective excitation in magnetically ordered materials and is considered an alternative information career. In antiferromagnets, magnons have a higher frequency than ferromagnets, but in the long-wavelength region, they usually do not have enough group velocity and prevent magnonic information transport. However, considering magnon-photon coupling, magnon may have a large group velocity comparable to the speed of light as a coupled state, magnon-polariton. We performed a pump-probe imaging measurement to obtain spatiotemporal waveforms of magnon-polariton in BiFeO3 and visualized the time evolution of components excited in a wavenumber-frequency space. We confirmed the signal of magnon-polariton from its temperature dependence and found that magnon-polariton propagated over hundreds of micrometers in tens of picoseconds. Our new observations shed light on understanding the ultrafast dynamics of antiferromagnets.
