The transition-metal dichalcogenide NbSe2 is a layered superconducting material that exhibits unconventional Ising superconductivity that is particularly robust to certain directions of external magnetic fields [1]. We combined the Bogoliubov-de-Gennes formalism in the Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker Green function method with the Coherent Potential Approximation [2,3], to study superconducting NbSe2 in the presence of dilute concentrations of magnetic transition-metal impurities. The ab initio results show a suppression of superconductivity at higher magnetic impurity concentration, which is in agreement with the Abrikosov-Gorkov theory.
