Modular Hamiltonians in QFT — Henning Bostelmann1, Daniela Cadamuro2, and •Ko Sanders3 — 1Department of Mathematics, University of York, UK — 2Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Leipzig, Germany — 3Department of Mathematics, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg
The Tomita-Takesaki modular theory has recently received increased attention in QFT, especially in connection to computations of entanglement and relative entropy. This makes it all the more desirable to try and compute the modular Hamiltonian, which generates the modular group, as explicitly as possible. Unfortunately this is extremely difficult even in very many relatively simple settings. In this talk we review some recent developments in this area for free scalar fields in Minkowski space.
